This month, I made a decision to place the Sonet’s practicality to the take a look at with a few uncommon load-carrying assignments. First up was a visit to a furnishings store to purchase a headboard for a double mattress. Falling into the Black Friday lure of shopping for a far grander merchandise than initially meant, I discovered myself baulking barely when the 134 x 147 cm field for my new buy emerged from the warehouse.
With all the pieces paid for, and in entrance of a chuckling viewers of fellow clients, I grimaced on the potential eyes-bigger-than-my-stomach state of affairs I’d created for myself. Fortunately, after a spot of finessing the field across the load lip and transferring the entrance seats ahead a contact, the Sonet’s 868-litre boot accommodated this impromptu discount.

Subsequent for the Sonet was a stint because the monitoring automobile on a latest picture shoot; the boot accommodating our long-limbed photographer, Peet, and his package. He remarked that the flat ground and high-opening tailgate have been particularly helpful when it got here to accessing and getting a safe place in, the load bay. His solely criticism involved the uncovered metal hinge struts on the base of the folded seats, which may probably scratch gadgets positioned towards them. Whereas wasn’t essentially the most typical load-carrying train, it does mark what’s probably an automotive first… with the ability to interview the ‘baggage’!
