PAIA manual

1. Introduction

This manual is published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) by FindCarGarages, which operates findcargarages.co.za.

3. Guide by the Information Regulator

A guide on how to use PAIA is available from the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za, or by email to enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.

4. Records available without a request

Directory listings, service and cost guides, published reviews, editorial articles, our terms of use and our privacy notice are all freely available on the website.

5. Records held

Business records: company registration, tax and financial records, contracts with suppliers.

Operational records: listing submissions, moderation decisions, enquiries, quote requests, reviews and subscription records.

Personnel records: employment and contractor records.

Information technology records: hosting, database and backup records.

6. How to make a request

Complete the prescribed PAIA request form, identify the record requested and the right you seek to exercise, and provide proof of identity. Send it to the information officer at the address above.

We will respond within 30 days. Fees may be payable in line with the PAIA fee schedule. If a request is refused, we will give reasons and explain your right to appeal.

7. Grounds for refusal

Access may be refused where PAIA requires or permits it, including to protect the privacy of a third party, commercially sensitive information, legally privileged records or the safety of persons.
